How do you describe yourself? Maybe you’re a health coach, massage therapist, yoga teacher or personal trainer. Maybe you’re a holistic practitioner. Or maybe you’re a Superfoods & Lifestyle Guru!
But of all the ways that you describe yourself – do you ever use the word entrepreneur?
Thinking of ourselves as entrepreneurs can feel uncomfortable.
How do you feel about the term entrepreneur?
Does it make you feel inspired and optimistic? Or inauthentic and too ‘money focused’?
Lots of wellness practitioners think that being an entrepreneur is all about making money, and that’s not why they’re in business.
Sure, we need to support ourselves, but we really want to help our clients achieve their health and wellness goals! Money is a side-benefit.
But let’s look a bit more closely at this idea of entrepreneurship, according to wikipedia: an entrepreneur is “a person who is willing to help launch a new venture or enterprise and accept full responsibility for the outcome.”
Launching a new venture? Check.
Accepting full responsibility for the outcome? Check.
If you have a wellness business, or you’re starting one – then you’re an entrepreur. In fact, you’re a wellpreneur. And you’ve come to the right place. Welcome!
So, what does it mean to be a wellpreneur?
As a wellpreneur, you’re passionate about spreading health and wellness through the world.
You want to share your message with as many people as possible.
You want to spend time doing what you love (helping clients) and not on the boring stuff (finances, administration + technology.)
You’re vibrant, energetic and creative.
You love connecting with people and sharing your authentic self.
You don’t want a regular, 9-5 job.
You have a bigger vision for your life, and you want to get started right away!
Being a wellpreneur is not without risks
The great thing about being a wellpreneur is that you’re absolutely passionate about your work. You’re constantly learning, sharing and growing.
The flip side is that you’re SO passionate about your work, everything else can fall to the side. And as a business owner, this other stuff is actually quite important. Sales, marketing, finances … they’re all essential parts of your growing business.
The solution is to realize that you don’t need to do it all yourself, and to setup consistent systems for success.
If you’re a wellpreneur, you’re in the right place. Each week on The Wellpreneur Podcast I share tips, advice and inspiring interviews with successful wellpreneurs to help you grow your own wellness business online. Welcome to the community!
