As a health coach who wants to run your practice online, you’re probably overwhelmed by the amount of choices of health coach software available.
What’s are the key tools you need to run your practice?
Here’s my personal Top 5 list of software and online products for health coaches.
I’ve only included the software and online programs that I’ve personally used and have recommended to my clients.
WordPress is open-source software (that means it’s free!) that is the best website and blogging platform around. There are two versions, WordPress.com and the self-hosted WordPress.org (learn more about the difference here). You want to download the WordPress.org software and install it on a web host, to have complete control over your website.
WordPress is easy to use, widely supported and my top recommendation for creating a website for your coaching practice, that you can update yourself!
When you’re promoting your business online, there’s a good chance you’ll have clients from all over the world.
And the easiest (and least expensive) way I’ve found to connect with clients, worldwide, is to use Zoom.us. I’m even using Zoom instead of Skype for most phone calls and meetings.
Zoom is also great for running group programs, because you can have multiple people on video chat at the same time! There are both free and paid versions available. Definitely check it out!
Do you have little pieces of paper with to-do lists and ideas all over your desk?
Do you have folders of documents and notes, but can’t find things when you need them?
Do you have pages of bookmarks that seemed useful, but you never refer back to?
If so, you need to get familiar with Evernote! [affiliate link]
Evernote is my ‘digital memory’ that stores all of my notes, plans, bookmarks, research and even drafts of articles and other writing. It’s a centralized source where you create topical ‘notebooks’ and then easily search them from your computer, iPad, phone or other device. It’s all synchronized, so you have all of your information, everywhere you go!
The key with Evernote, is that you have to force yourself to use it in the beginning, to make it a habit. But once you’re used to it, you won’t be able to imagine life without it.
Stop managing your email list in a spreadsheet, and sign up for a managed email service! I wrote extensively about why you do not want to DIY your health coach mailing list here.
ConvertKit is my personal pick for the best email management service for health coaches. Yes, you can start with Mailchimp which has a free version – but when your email list exceeds 2000 subscribers, or when you’re ready to automate your emails – check out ConvertKit!
They handle all the subscribes and unsubscribes to your list, and can even automatically deliver a ‘free gift’ when someone signs up.
It makes life SO much easier, and gives you metrics about the performance of your email campaigns. I wouldn’t have a business without it!
Here’s another major time saver for your health coaching business. ScheduleOnce is an online scheduling tool. It syncs with your calendar, and shows your availability to anyone with the link. My favorite part of ScheduleOnce is how it handles timezones so seamlessly. No more back-and-forth with clients to figure out a suitable time – and it really increases the professionalism of your health coaching practice. Just send your client the scheduling link, and ask them to book in a time with you. Easy!
What is your favorite health coach software? Did I miss out one of your favorite tools? Let me know in the comments!
